chase sapphire reserve 60000 point offer

This offer has expired.

While many are more excited about the new offer for 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points + a $50 grocery credit on a new Sapphire Preferred card with $4,000 in spend within 3 months, there are also many that would prefer to get the Sapphire Reserve outright because they want Priority Pass (with Priority Pass airport restaurant access, unlike Amex) or because they spend enough on travel and dining to make the 3X earning rate on those categories with the Reserve more attractive.

And of course, with the Sapphire Reserve you can redeem points in the Chase Travel Portal or via Pay Yourself Back at 1.5 cents per point in value vs 1.25 cents for the Sapphire Preferred.

Chase Sapphire Reserve

The Chase Sapphire Reserve launched with a bang in 2016, offering 100,000 bonus points as the introductory bonus offer. They wanted to make a splash and they succeeded. So much so, that it was widely reported that JP Morgan Chase lost hundreds of millions on the launch.

As a result, Chase has promoted the $95 annual fee Chase Sapphire Preferred much more heavily than the $550 annual fee Sapphire Reserve ever since, never again raising the bonus offer once it went down to 50,000 points where it has sat for four years.

Chase Private Client’s have been able to get 60,000 points in-branch and there have been targeted mailers but, for most, a bonus higher than 50,000 points wasn’t available.

It is now a public offer of 60,000 bonus points when you spend $4,000 within 3 months, so if you’ve been waiting, now is your chance to get a higher 60,000 point bonus on the Chase Sapphire Reserve.

Just remember, you can only have one Sapphire card at a time. So you should consider if you would prefer the richer 80,000 point Sapphire Preferred offer (which you could upgrade in a year if you wanted) before you apply.

Chase Sapphire Reserve Card Eligibility

That’s because on top of the Chase 5/24 rule, you are not eligible for a new Sapphire bonus if:

Most that got the Reserve during the famous and never-repeated 100,000 bonus offer of 2016 just recently became eligible.

If you aren’t quite sure when you received it, you can reach out to Chase and ask (secure message or call).
