The Alaska flight where a door plug blew off in flight, thankfully without any major injuries but certainly not without some post-traumatic stress for those on board has probably made some people think twice about booking their next Alaska flight.
Even though Boeing seems to blame, Alaska needs to win back trust nonetheless.
So Alaska is out with a new promotion where you can save 30% on certain days and 10% on other days throughout plus double Elite Qualifying Miles.
There’s quite a bit of fine print so let’s dig in.
- For any flights you fly during February that are both marketed by and operated by Alaska, you’ll get double EQMs.
- For flights booked with corporate rates, Mileage Plan members who fly in February 2024 will earn triple EQMs.
Mileage Plan™ members who fly in First Class and Main Cabin (excluding Saver fares booked in X class) on qualifying nonstop flights from February 1, 2024 through February 29, 2024 will receive double elite-qualifying miles. Corporate travelers flying under a qualifying contracted corporate ticket in First Class and Main Cabin (excluding Saver fares booked in X class) from February 1, 2024 through February 29, 2024 will receive triple elite-qualifying miles. Eligible corporate trips must be booked through the company’s travel booking system. Not valid on free or award travel. Flights must be marketed and operated by Alaska Airlines or on behalf of Alaska Airlines by Horizon or SkyWest. Saver fares booked in X class are excluded. Mileage for qualifying flights must be credited to the member’s Mileage Plan account. Bonus elite-qualifying miles awarded as part of this promotion apply only toward elite status qualification and will not be available for redemption. Allow up to 4 weeks after the offer end date for bonus elite-qualifying miles to post. Corporate elite-qualifying miles will post separately. All terms and conditions of the Mileage Plan™ program apply. Offer subject to change without notice.
- For flights you book by January 31, 2024 for flights through March 13th, 2024, you’ll save 10%-30% as shown in the Terms below. Use code THANKYOU30
Since the terms below are long, I’m just going to say that it’s a solid effort, but you have to fly Tuesday, Wednesday, or Saturday )and avoid certain routes) to get the 30% off, else it’s just 10%.
It’s also a pretty small window as many people flying in the next 6 weeks have already booked travel – although thanks to the current environment, many flights you may have booked could be refundable with miles or refundable to a travel credit if paid in cash.
