It’s never exactly been difficult to get Hertz President’s Circle status. It’s a key step in my Car Rental Status Match article.
Beyond the matches available, it’s a feature of the Capital One Venture X card.
Now, all American Express Platinum, American Express Business Platinum and American Express Corporate Platinum cardmembers get direct, easy access to Hertz’s top tier status, which gives you the best range of cars to choose from at locations that offer Ultimate Choice (pick your own car form the lot as long as you book a standard car class or higher), as there is a dedicated lot for President’s Circle members.
I have had President’s Circle for many years and I do often get some pretty nice cars, like this Jeep Wrangler that I got in Memphis.
Of course, sometimes, the lot is barren or full of lower end cars. You never know.
And of course, there’s always that lottery-like risk of winding up in jail just by choosing to rent a car from Hertz.
