Right now there are two deals going on in tandem that make it possible to spend just 58,000 Citi ThankYou points to book a one-way ticket between the US and Asia.
Seoul and Beijing will be your origin or destination for this hack with LA or NYC on the other side. Asiana or Air China will be your airline.
Until Weds, Dec 12th you can book any of these for just 72,000 Avianca LifeMiles, down from 90,000 normally.
And on top of that, if you transfer in Citi Thank You points, also only until Weds Dec 12th, you’ll get a 25% transfer bonus.
That means that just 58,000 Citi ThankYou points will be more than enough (actually 500 too many, but you have to go in 1,000 intervals) for this First Class ticket as long as you do it by Weds night.
If you don’t have Citi ThankYou, you can still book it for 72,000 miles by transferring in Amex points – as long as you do it by Wednesday.
Taxes and fees on this sample Air China flight are reasonable as well – under $60.
