This is awesome news (to me!). As someone that generally avoids United for various reasons but is jealous of their pretzel bun cheeseburger, I’m thrilled about the opportunity to pre-order a Shake Shack cheeseburger when traveling First Class on Delta – eventually.
This will first roll out on flights from Boston on Dec 1st, but Delta says that other markets (come on JFK!) will get the offering rolling out throughout 2025.
They state: “The Shake Shack Cheeseburger features a 100% Angus beef patty, topped with cheese and served on a toasted potato bun. You can customize your burger to create the signature ShackBurger, with toppings like tomato, lettuce and Shake Shack’s famous ShackSauce, all served on the side. The meal also features chips, a Caesar salad, and a dark chocolate brownie reminiscent of Shack Attack flavors from some of the brand’s dessert offerings.”
It’s unclear if one could request the burger without the cheese melter on if that is their preference.
“The Shake Shack Cheeseburger will be available via pre-select; customers can make and edit their entrée selection up to 24 hours in advance using the Fly Delta app or a link in their email, starting seven days before departure.”
I’ve been eating Shake Shack since the day the original Shack opened in Madison Square Park and while, to me, nothing comes close to the burgers served at that one location, this will still be pretty awesome.
