Earn up to 10,200 Points Per Bonvoy Credit Card You Have
With Marriott’s “It’s in the Cards” promotion, you’ll get 200 points just for registering your card and another 10,000 bonus points if you spend $7,000 by September 21, 2024. You only have until August 1st to register, however, and only American Express Bonvoy cards opened before April 1st, 2024 and Chase Bonvoy cards opened before June 20th, 2024.
For Amex cards, it’s going to appear as an Amex Offer, so just one click to register from your app or online.
For Chase cards, head over here.
Not all Bonvoy cards are eligible, though.
Only cards that you can currently apply outright for are eligible. So, cards like the Ritz Carlton Card and the Chase Bonvoy Business cards are sadly ineligible (and I did try my Ritz Carlton card, only converted from a Bonvoy Boundless a couple of months ago, and got a goose egg. I probably would have put the spent on my business card – but that’s a legacy Chase one so I guess not 😉
Eligible Cards
American Express
- Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card
- Marriott Bonvoy Bevy™ American Express® Card
- Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card
Chase
- Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card
- Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card
- Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful™ Credit Card from Chase
The Math
Spending exactly $7,000 would net you 24,000 points (you get the 200 for registering regardless).
I value a Bonvoy point at 0.6 cents and you’d earn 3.43 points per dollar (at exactly $7,000). That’s about a 2.1% yield on your non-bonus category spend which isn’t terrible. Given how hard it is to earn Bonvoy points, it’s worth considering.
Will I do it? Not sure…. I’m considering it 😉
