In August 2019, the now-discontinued Citi Prestige credit card lost the ability to book 4th Night Free reservations via the Citi Concierge.
This effectively killed the card’s greatest perk: unlimited 4th Night Free on 4+ night stays booked either online or with the Citi Concierge (by Aspire). Via the concierge, the booking was booked directly and allowed full status benefits and for hotel loyalty points to be earned.
One thing that most didn’t realize at that moment was that Citi would allow those that made a 4th Night Free booking via the concierge prior to the deadline (Aug. 31, 2019) would be allowed to make unlimited changes to the reservation as long as the confirmation number didn’t change. I since learned that many people booked dozens and dozens of reservations to change for as long as they could.
“As long as they could” is now, as I learned via an email from the Concierge team today for one of my handful of still-open bookings:
“Our records show that you have one or more 4th Night Hotel Stay reservations. As stated in your July and August statements, as of 10/1/2021, if you change the dates of any of these 4th Night Hotel Stay reservations, they will no longer be eligible for the 4th Night Hotel Stay benefit.
Aspire Concierge will continue to support your existing reservation(s) and will continue to honor the 4th Night Hotel Stay benefit for any existing reservation(s) so long as the dates are not changed. For more information, visit the FAQ section at citi.com/prestige.
To update any existing reservations, please call 1-877-288-2484 (TTY for hearing/speech impaired only: 1-800-325-2865) or send an email to concierge@yourconciergecenter.
So, if you have any open bookings, do your best to get some final dates by September 30th, 2021. After that, all you will be able to do is travel as planned or cancel the booking.
