How to Apply for the United Club Infinite
Previously, the bonus offer for this card just waived the $525 annual fee the first year. 100,000 miles is worth over $1,000 so this is a much better deal.
Remember:
The Chase 5/24 rule applies on both cards.
While I’m not personally rushing to open airline credit cards right now, if you are under 5/24 and have been eyeing either of these cards, it certainly makes sense to apply when the offers are elevated.
hi thanx for the information I would have used this offer if I didn’t have the explorer one. I have a question though if I want to downgrade the united explorer mileage plus what are my options, and will I lose my united points if I do so?
Hi Asal. There is a no-fee United card that you can downgrade to which still offers the expanded award availability, though not much else. If you do that, you should also reduce your credit limit on that card to the minimum so it doesn’t get in the way of new applications.
If it has been more than 24 months since you received the bonus on the card, you could apply fresh for the Explorer after just a few days (while the system updates). Alternatively, you could get the Club card now. You are eligible for the bonus even if you have an Explorer card.
Lastly – you won’t ever lose your United miles by cancelling a United credit card.
