Recap: For those on the Status Match Merry Go Round™ in the Atlantic City market, one of the main goals is achieving Ocean Prime status.

Two primary benefits are conferred with Ocean Prime status. One is a free yearly cruise on MSC (which means you can use it twice in a status year which runs July to June).
The other has for years been a two night stay at a Las Vegas hotel. It was initially Wynn Las Vegas and then in 2022 it shifted to Resorts World.
We assumed that the relationship with Resorts World would continue since it’s been in their 2024-2025 brochure. However, last night over in the MilesTalk Facebook group (where we get pretty granular on all things related to the Status Match Merry Go Round), member Susan L. reported having just matched at Ocean and being told that the partnership with Resorts World may not extend into the next program year, possibly being replaced with another hotel.
I called up Resorts World to try and get some dirt since I was hoping to stay there as part of a trip to Las Vegas later this year. The gentleman was pretty candid that “RW has been waiting for a response from Ocean on if they are continuing. We have reached out several times and do not have an answer yet.”
He said he’s had a LOT of calls asking to book for later in the year but with the partnership possibly ending, they cannot book beyond the June 30th contract expiration.
My guess? Fontainebleau is probably trying to secure a partnership. It’s pure speculation but for what is a spectacularly designed resort, their location on the strip past even Resorts World means a lack of foot traffic passing by – meaning it needs to be someone’s destination. When I stayed there in March, it was noticeably lacking in the crowds department with the exception of the jam packed pool…
But clearly Ocean Casino is in the driver’s seat and there’s only 11 days left before their new program year begins, so I have a feeling we will know more soon.
You know where to stay tuned for updates…
PS: Nov 1-3 is the ZorkFest conference in Vegas. It’s a casino loyalty program conference with some miles and points and, of course, status matching added in for good measure. I’ll be speaking there once again this year.

Seems pretty clear to me as it’s clearly stated on the Ocean Rewards webpage: “Effective June 30, 2024, Ocean will be ending our partnership with Resorts World Las Vegas. No bookings may be made by this date. A new Las Vegas partner coming is coming soon! “
Well that’s brand new. Clearly the section has now been made. Hope they finally told RW! 😉
The new partner turned out to be Wynn, again.
Hey Kyle – can you link to the info? We know some employees have said this but the Ocean website still says New Partner Coming Soon (at least on the page I bookmarked). Would love to verify. Thanks!
Do we know for sure who the new partner is?
It’s Wynn. Confirmed an hour ago. No details yet.
