MGM Rewards has brought back the same Status Challenge as last year, from now through July 31, 2025 (unless extended).
Like last time, you’ll get your Gold status for 3 months unless you earn a ridiculous amount of tier credits within 3 months to keep status through Jan 2027 (note – it’s harder to earn status this way on a per month basis than without a challenge!).
To keep Gold status through January 2025, you have to earn 50,000 Tier Credits in 90 days. To earn it outright over a 12 month period, you need 75,000 Tier Credits.
To keep Platinum status, you need to earn 150,000 Tier Credits in 90 days to keep it through January 2025. To earn it outright over a 12 month period, you need 200,000 Tier Credits.
MGM credit card spend and BetMGM also do not count towards the challenge.
The list of programs you can match from are here.
Assuming this works like previous matches, you can find the casino you want to match from in any state and it will be valid.
For example, New Jersey (where the Borgata is) does not list Hard Rock Icon as a valid match. However, California, where there list Hard Rock Icon as matching to MGM Gold, should be sufficient to match in any state from Hard Rock Icon.
If you matched to Venetian last year and onward matched Venetian to Pechanga, that Pechanga card is good for MGM Gold.
Rivers Black should also match to MGM Gold, as some people have picked up in Philly recently.
Good luck, everybody! And don’t forget to post your results here or in the MilesTalk Facebook group – the official home of the Status Match Merry Go Round®!
