We don’t talk a ton about the Capital One VentureOne credit card. This is the no-fee Venture-family card that only earns 1.25X Capital One Miles per dollar spent. Normally we discuss the Venture X card these days, and sometimes the original Venture Rewards card.
The offer on the Capital One VentureOne has doubled and is the highest I’ve ever seen it at 40,000 miles for $1,000 in spend within 3 months.
On top of that you get an Intro 0% APR (19.24% – 29.24% variable APR after that) for 18 months. It used to be 15 months.
Interestingly enough, as my team and I were working on the upcoming 2.0 version of Your Best Credit Cards, I thought I had the wrong bonus offer and 0% Intro APR length on the current site, only to get an email a few minutes later about the change! Crazy timing.
Anyway, you might want to apply for this card for a few reasons.
- One is if you are flat out annual fee adverse. I mean I teach you all the time why you often get more out of a card with an annual fee than one without, but some of you still won’t pay one 😉
- Another reason is if you want that 18 month 0% intro APR. You don’t need amazing credit to be approved for this card and that is one of the longest 0% APR credit cards on the market. The Chase Edge Slate has an equal 18 month offer, but no bonus offer and earns no points.
- The last reason is the most fun. If you have a Capital One credit card that earns cash back (like the SavorOne or the Spark Cash Plus for Business), you can transfer your cash back into your VentureOne card where you can then transfer them out to the Capital One airline and hotel partners listed below.
You’d transfer $100 for 10,000 points. You could technically then have the Spark Cash plus for your business, rack up 2% on everything, and then transfer to your no fee VentureOne to spend the cash as miles.
