citi rewards+ 10% rebate

If you’ve read my post about the Citi Trifecta, you know that the Citi Rewards+® is an integral part of the Citi Trifecta, due to the annual rebate of 10% of points redeemed, up to 10,000 ThankYou points per year.

This means that if you redeem (via the portal or by transfer to airline partners) 100,000 points, you would get 10,000 back. If you redeem more, you’d stop getting rebated because of the 10,000 annual cap, which is on a calendar year cycle.  You don’t need to actually redeem “from” the Rewards+ card. You can have all of your points pooled and get the best features of each card. So simply “having” the Rewards+ card in your linked set of cards will mean you get the rebate, even if you earned/redeemed points gotten from another Citi ThankYou card.

I recently got a Citi Rewards+ to complete my Citi Trifecta (actually, Citi Quadfecta as I have the Citi Premier® or Citi Prestige, Citi® Double Cash and the Citi Rewards+, which as you can read on the Citi Trifecta post all serve a different purpose).

But when I redeemed for the first time after receiving my Citi Rewards+ card, I assumed that the 10% rebate would be something of an instant thing. When it wasn’t, I scoured the web for when to expect it and couldn’t find a real answer. The phone rep *thought* it would post within a few weeks but didn’t seem too sure. Maybe in a statement or two, they said.

I redeemed on both Dec 3rd and Dec 8th and was really starting to wonder:

How Long Does It Take For the Citi Rewards+ 10% ThankYou Point Rebate to Post?

The answer is:

It posts with your next Citi Rewards+ statement close date.

(Note: I did an additional redemption you can’t see here on the 3rd that, when added to the 44,000 point transfer to Avianca was just over 52,000 points redeemed, for a full 10% bonus.)
