The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card has a benefit of Hertz’s top tier President’s Circle status which, most importantly, lets you choose from the highest end (in theory!) Ultimate Choice section of cars.
This benefit has, since day one, stated an expiration date of December 31, 2024. (since we revamped Your Best Credit Cards last year, it’s hard to go back very far but here is the card in Dec 2023 showing the end date to the benefit in section 5 “Grants Car Rental Status.”)
The question for me has always been if they would extend the benefit and while I sort of thought they would, perhaps I should have been clued in that the Venture X Business card launched without the benefit at all.
In any event, Thrifty Traveler today spoke to Capital One inquiring about the end date of the benefit and was told that it is not being renewed and will end on Dec 31st, 2024 as planned.
Now to be clear, I’ve never even had to use this benefit despite having the card, thanks to the Car Rental equivalent of the casino-based Status Match Merry Go Round™.

Personally, I’ve been status matching car rental statuses in circles for a decade and so I suggest that if you got President’s Circle via the Venture X, it’s time to do some matching 😉
