I *finally* got the World of Hyatt credit card at the end of last year. The main reason wasn’t even the signup bonus. It was the ongoing promotions that Hyatt has only for World of Hyatt cardholders.
Each year, around the summer time, they have various points rebates promotions, either only for cardmembers or at an increased rebate rate for cardholders. The more I stay with Hyatt, the more I like Hyatt and the more highly I value World of Hyatt points – especially since becoming a Globalist.
Last year, the offer was 15% of your award night points back for all World of Hyatt members but 10% more if you had the credit card.
This year, they are doing it again, but with a major catch – limited brands that qualify.
This year, you need to register by August 20, 2021, and complete your stay at a JdV by Hyatt, Destination by Hyatt, or The Unbound Collection by Hyatt property from June 15, 2021, through September 15, 2021, to receive 25% back in Bonus Points on qualifying redemptions. There is a limit of 30,000 points rebated per stay.
So, just three brands will qualify and, very notably, brands like Grand Hyatt, Park Hyatt, and SLH are not part of the deal. I was initially super excited thinking I’d get rebates for my upcoming stays at the Topping Rose House and Ventana Big Sur, which are 40,000 and 30,000 points per night respectively.
Still, there are plenty of JdV hotels (Thompson Hotels, for example), as well as Destination and Unbound hotels, so many will see some nice points savings.
As always with Hyatt promotions, the most important bit is to remember to register, so do that now.
Note that if you already have a stay booked within the eligible dates, you do not need to cancel and rebook. The checkout date (and registration!) is all that matters. Also, the points won’t be rebated until you checkout, so you’ll still need all the points to book the stay.
Get Hyatt Bonus Points: Earn 30,000 Bonus Points after spending $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening, plus an additional 2 Bonus Points total per $1 spent in you first 6 months on purchases that would normally earn 1 Bonus Point, on up to $15,000 spent. | How to apply for this offer.
