The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at LaGuardia Airport (LGA)

For the first time since my infatuation with the Virgin Atlantic lounge at JFK (which is no longer as they watered F&B down to join Priority Pass and have less available hours), I am crowning a new favorite domestic lounge – the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at LaGuardia Airport.

Chase invited me last week to attend a media preview for the lounge and I was just all sorts of impressed. And regular readers know that when something does not impress me, I 100% say so. This lounge really impressed me.

Location of the Chase Sapphire Lounge at LGA

The only sad thing (for me) is that the lounge is in Terminal B which serves American Airlines, Air Canada, JetBlue, Southwest, and United – and I tend to fly Delta which is in Terminal C.

But the location makes a ton of sense for Chase, since they are partnered with Air Canada, Southwest, and United via Chase Ultimate Rewards.

The entrance is post-security on the 4th Floor, though an elevator will whisk you down to the club itself. The lounge is open daily from 4:30 am to 9:30 pm. The “Reserve Suites,” which I’ll cover below, are open from 5am to 9pm.

How to Access the Chase Sapphire Lounge at LGA

Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmembers can enter along with up to two free guests.

Non-Sapphire Reserve Priority Pass customers will be able to enter a Sapphire Lounge by The Club location one time at no cost and will be charged an entry fee of $75 upon each subsequent visit to any location within the Sapphire Lounge by The Club network.

To be clear, using Priority Pass, you get just one visit at any Chase Sapphire lounge each year, with no guests. Guests are $75 each.

Sapphire Reserve authorized cardmembers with Priority Pass will have the same access as the primary card member for the Sapphire Lounges. Sapphire Reserve authorized cardmembers may bring up to two guests per Priority Pass membership card, per visit, for free and additional guests for $27.

Ritz Carlton credit card holders also have unlimited visits and unlimited guests per visit.

JP Morgan Reserve Cardmembers with Priority Pass will have access to the Sapphire Lounges. J.P. Morgan Reserve cardmembers may bring up to two guests per Priority Pass membership card, per visit, for free and additional guests for $27.

So what makes this lounge so special that I would try to get to the airport a few hours early to spend time there?

First, it’s massive. At over 21,000 sq feet and set on two floors, this lounge feels super spacious with tons and tons of comfortable seating (and I mean comfortable!) and tons of power outlets all around.

They have super tasty food by Joseph Leonard which I’ll show you below, as well as a full bar with craft beer, cocktails, and barista made coffee as well as coffee (including a cold brew tap!) by Joe, the Art of Coffee – a NYC staple.

For the food, there is a small selection of food on the buffet, but a larger selection that is made to order. Just scan the QR code where you are sitting and order what you’d like. I love this because you always get hot, fresh food this way as compared to when everything is buffet style. I’ve got the menus below…

There’s also a game room with a pinball machine and shufflepuck as well as a kid’s play room (a nice touch that as a relatively new parent I definitely appreciate!)

They also have an area for Wellness Rooms with Treatments from Face Haus which offers complimentary treatment options from an esthetician that can be booked onsite on a first-come first-served basis. Visitors can also take a complimentary Fly By Face Haus Skincare Travel Kit.

There are also two relaxation pods where you can signup for a complimentary meditation session or just relax on your own. These will be bookable for up to 30 minutes at a time.

Let’s jump into some pictures!

There’s just one 4 person suite and two 8 person suites. The two 8 person suites can be combined into one massive suite for 16 people upon request, with a cost for 3 hours of $6,000.

Bottom Line – The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at LGA

Chase has been working hard to add additional value to the Chase Sapphire Reserve card ever since raising the annual fee to $550.

If you frequently travel out of LGA’s Terminal B, the card suddenly becomes a no-brainer given that regular Priority Pass from any other card will get you just the one visit a year.

By partnering with a 3rd party that is an expert in airport lounges and clearly working hard to knock this out of the park, they have created a “get to the airport early to relax and enjoy” experience – something that has become less and less the norm at domestic airports. I’m also interested to see how the experience at JFK will be. It’s also a “Club” lounge (the same partners) but retrofitted into the previous Etihad lounge space. That opens on the 23rd.

  1. Is there a massage chair? Are there showers? The BOS Sapphire has both. After dumping the AX Plat and the unwelcoming, overflowing Centurion lounges, I didn’t expect another issuer to raise the bar. Chase has earned my respect.
