Chase has reversed course on the new lifetime bonus language that recently appeared on its Southwest business credit cards.
I wrote about the new Southest business card restriction when it appeared, because Chase had started showing language suggesting that you could only receive the welcome bonus on each Southwest business card once per lifetime.

That is apparently not (going to be) the policy.

Chase Says There Are No Current Bonus Restrictions
Chase reached out asking me to correct the article. I know other have also published this, but I wanted to be extra thorough so forgive the delay in the interest of completeness.
I asked specifically if that meant a return to the 24 month restriction. After all, the pages haven’t been updated yet, so we don’t know the new / coming language.
The response I received from Chase’s PR team was:
“There are currently no restrictions when it comes to bonus offers on the Southwest business cards.”
That’s specifically different than saying the 24 month variant was correct.
So to be clear, as of now, Chase is telling me directly that there are no restrictions on bonus offers for the Southwest business cards.
The Separate 3/24 Issue Still Appears to Be Real
This does not appear to change the newer 3/24 restriction Chase has quietly been applying to some sole proprietors applying for business cards.
There are now enough data points of applicants being denied and told by Chase that 3/24 was the reason that I would assume the rule is being enforced for at least some (most?) sole proprietor applications. Southwest business cards are not looking to be exempt from that.
Keep in mind that Chase has not publicly announced a 3/24 rule, but everyone is discussing it and the data points are overwhelming.
So, in short:
- Good news: Southwest business card bonus rules are now “no restrictions”
- Bad news: Chase appears to be applying 3/24 to at least some sole (most?) proprietor applications.
Bottom Line
The once-per-lifetime language that appeared on the Southwest business cards appears to have been a false start.
More importantly, when I asked about the old 24-month restriction, Chase told me there are currently no restrictions when it comes to bonus offers on the Southwest business cards.
The newer 3/24 approval issue appears to be separate and still in effect for at least some applicants.
