Alaska Airlines is joining the Oneworld alliance on March 31, 2021. That’s when you will be able to redeem Alaska miles for the famous Qatar Airways QSuites (and any Qatar Airways flight).
But starting Dec 15th, 2020, paid flyers will be able to earn Alaska MileagePlan miles when flying Qatar Airways (and vice versa, though I would only personally want to credit to Alaska MileagePlan).
Here’s the accrual chart for crediting Qatar flights to Alaska:
Definitely a nice earn rate (similar to crediting BA flights) in the premium cabins here. Of course, what remains to be seem is what the Alaska Airlines MileagePlan award chart looks like when it is reconfigured for its entry into Oneworld…
Alaska and Qatar will also codeshare flights, to include their new Seattle – Doha service, which, incidentally, is now bookable with miles.
