JetBlue jfk lounge bluehouse
JetBlue's BlueHouse Lounge at JFK - Courtesy JetBlue

In just one week from today, JetBlue will finally enter the lounge wars with its first BlueHouse lounge.

I do think this is big in a couple of senses. If you fly JetBlue, even in a premium cabin, you are stuck in the regular terminal before a flight at a time when people are simply used to airport lounges. And they keep getting better (at some airports!). JFK Terminal 4 recently added the Capital One lounge and Delta recently added their Delta One lounge with private security.

There was a media preview, but not for me, so I’m going based on the press release you can find here just like you. ;-).

First, access. Here’s who will be able to access the BlueHouse:

  • Mosaic 4 Elite Status Members (one guest complimentary, $39 per additional guest).
  • JetBlue Premier Cardmembers (one guest complimentary, $39 per additional guest). This card has a $99 annual fee.
  • Transatlantic Mint customers. ($39 per guest; none complimentary.)
  • You are excluded from entering the lounge on a Blue Basic fare even if you meet any of the above criteria.

They also state that BlueHouse limited access passes will be available for purchase beginning in February 2026 for the following customers(which cannot be on a Blue Basic fare) :

  • Mosaic 1 – 3 Members
  • JetBlue Plus and Business Cardmembers
  • Non-transatlantic Mint Customers
  • Annual BlueHouse Members

I don’t think I like the fact that of all the domestic carriers, JetBlue is the only one not giving lounge access to business class customers flying transcontinental (i.e. New York to LA or SF).

I do like that you can at least buy access (although it seems they intentionally omitted the coming fee for that), but I don’t think you should have to. I would imagine it’s a capacity issue. And you get the same access (paid only) as a $99 credit card holder?

And then I guess there will be a yearly membership – but members still need to purchase a limited access pass? And what does limited refer to anyway? Is it not full lounge access? I have many questions and nobody to ask them to….

The space is 9,000 square feet across two levels and is open from 5am to 10pm daily.

They call out the following features:

  • Artisan wines, cocktails, draft and local craft beers curated by The Greats of Craft, Please Don’t Tell, and some of NYC’s top sommeliers and mixologists.
  • Barista-crafted, hot and cold espresso-based drinks from NYC-based Joe Coffee.
  • Small-batch specialty Chai and Matcha offerings from Brooklyn’s Dona, and a selection of tea from Steven Smith Teamaker.
  • Fresh bites, prepared daily and curated by our friends at Union Square Events—known for some of NYC’s most iconic eateries.
  • Selection of savory and sweet premium snacks.

JetBlue will expand BlueHouse with its next location set to open at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) Terminal C in 2026.
