Hyatt only recently joined Rakuten, the cash back site that now lets you earn Bilt Rewards points in addition to American Express Membership Rewards points (or cash).
Hyatt became bookable on the site just a couple of weeks ago. The normal rate of cash back is 3X.
For Black Friday, it went to 12X and I thought that was fantastic.
Today, probably until midnight, it’s 15X.
If you set your Rakuten account to earn Bilt points value those points near 2 cents, this is close to a 30% rebate on your Hyatt spend.
Example: Spend $2,000 at Hyatt using the 15X link. Earn 30,000 Biit points. Bilt points can be transferred back to World of Hyatt where it’s easy to get 2 cents per point. in value. Meaning you could be getting back in the ballpark of $600 worth of Hyatt stays (it should go without saying that this is very you-dependent … you could get $400 or you could get $1,000 worth of Hyatt stays depending on how you use those points!).
Bonus: If you don’t already have a Rakuten account, signup today and get 5,000 bonus points (or $50 cash back) as a new account bonus just by triggering cash back for at least $50 in your first 90 days (on any store).
Anyway, I think you all know about Rakuten by now, so the main thing is Hyatt. These can be prepaid or postpaid stays, in the US, Canada, and Mexico. I’m not sure exactly when prepaid stays are paid, but post paid stays will be marked pending within a day or two and get posted to your account after the stay is completed.
