Last Call on Southwest Personal Credit Card Bonus Offers
We are still very much in Companion Pass Season, the time of year where you can earn a Companion Pass that’s valid for nearly two full years, since it’s valid for all of the year that you get it and all of the following year.
MilesTalk has a full guide to how to earn the Companion Pass for Two Years. And in 2021 only, Southwest has effectively lowered the requirements down to just 100,000 Companion Pass qualifying points by gifting all members the first 25,000.
Critical to the Companion Pass strategy is opening one or even two Southwest Airlines credit cards. And it sure helps when the offers are elevated.
They are elevated now, but those offers will end on February 8th, 2021 – giving you just over a week to take advantage.
All three personal Southwest credit cards have the same current bonus offer:
- Up to 80,000 Rapid Rewards points: 50,000 points after you spend $2,000 in 3 months plus an additional 30,000 points after spending $10,000 in your first 9 months.
- Also: Get 5 points per $1 that you spend on Southwest between 12/1/2020 and 3/31/2021 – on up to $2,000 in spend per month.
The Three Available Personal Southwest Credit Cards
Choose from the:
- Southwest Rewards Plus Credit Card, the
- Southwest Rewards Premier Credit Card, and the
- Southwest Rewards Priority Credit Card
For now, the Business versions of the Southwest cards are maintaining their offers
The Southwest Performance Business Credit Card has an offer on now for 70,000 Rapid Rewards points when you spend $5,000 in 3 months and a total of 100,000 bonus points (and instant Companion Pass for two years) if you can spend $25,000 within 6 months.
Alternatively, you can get the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Premier Business Credit Card which will give you 60,000 bonus points after you spend $3,000 within 3 months. The annual fee on the Premier Business Credit Card is $99 less, though you get 10,000 less bonus points.
