New Chefs Cooking Up New Food – Culinary Collective by The Centurion Lounge
I’m excited for this because, to be frank, I have found Centurion Lounge food to be lacking the last few years. I’ve longed for them to work to catch up to the likes of what Capital One is doing with their lounges, like their Landing concepts with Chef José Andrés, and even their Cheesemonger experience at their new JFK lounge.
From Amex:
“Launching July 29, the new Culinary Collective by The Centurion Lounge features all-new menus created by a powerhouse team of award-winning Resy chefs:
-
Kwame Onwuachi (Tatiana, Dōgon), bringing bold Afro-Caribbean flavors
-
Mashama Bailey (The Grey, soon L’Arrêt by The Grey in Paris), reimagining modern Southern cuisine
-
Mike Solomonov (Zahav, K’Far), with dishes rooted in rich Israeli tradition
-
Sarah Grueneberg (Monteverde), celebrating 10 years of Italian-inspired excellence
-
Harrison Ginsberg, bar director of Overstory, behind the new, travel-inspired cocktail program
Chef-curated dishes will be available across all 15 U.S. Centurion Lounges, with menus rotating regularly and varying by location.”
Can’t wait to see how this turns out…. I’m definitely rooting for it to!
Sidecar by the Centurion Lounge
“Also announced today, Amex is introducing a brand-new concept, Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge, opening at Harry Reid International (LAS) in Las Vegas in 2026. A sleek, speakeasy-style space designed for short visits, with exclusive bites and cocktails curated by the Culinary Collective. It’s relaxed, refined, and built for travelers on the move, making Amex the first and only credit card issuer with two lounges at Las Vegas’ airport.”
Las Vegas has one of the most crowded lounges I’ve seen, so this should relieve some of that overcrowding. Personally, 90% of the time I visit an airport lounge, all I want is *good* food and someplace comfortable to sit. I care the most about being able to get in quickly because I don’t want to buffer an extra hour for waiting in line to enter a lounge and if I don’t, I may make it in just in time to leave.
So, this is welcome!
New Centurion Lounges
Amsterdam and Tokyo are getting Centurion lounges, bring the worldwide total to over 30.
Tomorrow, July 16th, American Express will open a new Centurion Lounge at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (HND), located in Haneda’s Terminal 3 near Gate 11. It will be over 7,500 sq ft. and will feature meditation rooms and a local menu curated by Tokyo’s Chef Satoshi Ogino. If you stop by, let us know how you like it!
Next, Amsterdam’s will open at AMS between Concourse E and F in 2026 and clock in at over 6,000 sq ft.
The more lounges, the better!

Love the sidecar concept! On a different note, ORD badly needs an AMEX, Chase or a Capital One lounge. Whichever gets there first will make a killing with new accounts.
