In 2021, new Caesars Rewards members could bring a valid card from another casino chain, like MGM Rewards Gold, and be granted Caesars Diamond through Jan 31, 2022.
They are back now in 2022, extending that same match for all of 2022, with a validity end date of Jan 31, 2023. This is great for those that can’t get on the Status Match Merry Go Round using Wyndham Diamond because they can’t get the Wyndham Earner Business credit card.
While the terms state this is for new Caesars members only, in practice many existing base level cardholders at Caesars have successfully matched anyway. There doesn’t seem to be any computer restriction, so it comes down to finding the right casino or agent.
The match offer terms state:
Upgrade to Diamond Tier Status!
New Caesars Rewards® members, present your valid eligible VIP loyalty card from select competitors at any Caesars Rewards Center between February 1 – December 31, 2022 and we will upgrade you to Diamond status valid through January 31, 2023.
It may take up to 30 days to process your upgrade request.
This page lists all the casinos that will match to Caesars Diamond and I don’t think there are many surprised. They won’t match higher than base Diamond (the same that Wyndham matches to), so you really don’t need much strategy.
Note that the terms have been changed to say that “New members upgraded to Diamond through this promotion must earn 100 Tier Credits to qualify for certain Diamond benefits.” However, they don’t state what that applies to. I guess we’ll find out soon enough!
In the past, matched members have been instantly eligible for the free Atlantis stay in the Bahamas. Maybe that now requires 100 Tier Credits to be earned?
But – importantly – if you do match this way, be very sure to then match your Caesars Rewards Diamond to Wyndham Diamond. This is what will ensure you can re-match next year.

Has anyone been able to do this at Harrahs in NOLA as ‘not a new Caesar’s member’?

If I’m heading to Vegas in a week, should I hold off on creating an Caesars account online, and wait to do it in person at the rewards desk? I’m booking a few hotel nights so would like to do so to start collecting points before I status match via my MGM Gold, but didn’t know how strict Caesars would be when it comes to “new” members. Thanks!
If you are matching from Wyndham, that has to be done online. If you are matching from another casino and are a first time Caesars member, you would do that in person.
Sorry if I wasn’t clearer. I don’t (yet) have a Caesars account. Since the diamond match offer is for “new” members, I was wondering if you recommended creating a new account in person, or if I could do it online today. Then in a week, when I’m in Vegas, I could go to rewards desk to ask for status match (via MGM Gold). I don’t know how strict Caesars is when it comes to the offer only for new rewards members
That is what I meant by it depends what you are matching from.
If from Wyndham you can ONLY do it online.
If from another casino status, you can ONLY do that in person. If you are matching from another casino you would need them to create the account when you get there else you would no longer be a new member. Hope that helps!
