Still, it should be no surprise to MilesTalk readers.
Each month, the border closure has been extended and each month I anticipate another extension. Last month, I wrote that the Canadian border with the United States could remain closed into 2021. I still think that is likely to be the case unless the coronavirus can be controlled within US borders.
The CBC reports that 80% of Canadians favor keeping the border sealed off so as to not risk undoing the progress they have made with the coronavirus.

To understand why Canada wants to keep the border closure in place, we only need to look at the current data:

As I remind you monthly, if you are a Canadian resident, you can still visit the US by air (only) subject, of course, to quarantine rules on your return to Canada.
I personally spend a lot of time in Canada and love to visit. I sure hope I can visit again soon…
