The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card has a new limited time offer:

75,000 bonus miles after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months, plus a $300 Capital One Travel stays credit.

Is This the Richest Venture Offer Ever?

It is close, but I want to be accurate about it.

We have seen a lot of recent Venture offers pair miles with a $250 travel credit. This one is $50 more, but the credit is more narrow. A “stays” credit means hotels and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Travel, not travel in general. No flights.

There was also a brief run in 2023 of a straight 100,000 mile offer with no credit attached. On miles alone (meaning if you use my valuation of 1.6c per Capital One Mile), that one was bigger.

Clearly, this is one of the highest offers we have seen on this card – just not an all time high on the miles themselves if you go all the way back to mid-2023.

What It Is Actually Worth

At our valuation of 1.6 cents per Capital One Mile, 75,000 miles is about $1,200. Add the $300 credit and you are at roughly $1,500 against a $95 annual fee.

Capital One’s own line is “more than $1,000 in travel value,” which uses the flat 1 cent per mile you get redeeming miles against travel purchases. Obviously we preach transferring to partners 🙂

2X on Everything Is Easy

The Venture earns 2X miles on every purchase, with no categories to track and no quarterly activation.

It also earns 5X on hotels, vacation rentals, and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel.

I have said this for years about this card: the simplicity is why people love it. You do not have to think about which card to pull out. I know many like that. Many are not as crazy as me with 45 cards 😉

The Miles Transfer to 18 Partners

Capital One miles move to 18 airline and hotel partners, which is where the value is. (Aside: You can see every partner, and which other banks reach the same programs, in our Transfer Partner Matrix.)

There is also a live 30% transfer bonus to JAL Mileage Bank through September 30. That takes 1,000 Capital One miles from 750 JAL miles to 975, which is close to the 1:1 you get transferring to JAL from Bilt or Rove. Every live bonus is on our master transfer bonus page which is also where you can sign up for our free alerts.

Who Can Actually Get It

You are not eligible for this bonus if you have received a new cardmember bonus on the Venture or the Venture X in the last 48 months. That is four years, and it covers both cards, so a Venture X bonus in 2023 rules you out here. It didn’t used to be like that…. but most issuers have tightened up on these rules.

Primary Card Benefits

  • $95 annual fee
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • No fee for authorized users.
  • Up to $120 back for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck every four years
  • Hertz Five Star status

Dave Grossman
I got "in the game" in 2003 and since then I've collected literally millions and millions of frequent flyer miles and hotel points. I've flown around the world in first class seats that would cost $29,000 using frequent flyer miles and a few bucks in tax. And I've stayed in some of the finest hotels - all for free! Several years ago, I realized many of my friends actually thought I was paying for these!! So I started sharing my tips. It's long been a passion, but when I hosted a session on Miles and Points at the South by Southwest festival, my love of the game intensified and this blog was born. Since then, I've written my book, MilesTalk: Live Your Wildest Travel Dreams Using Miles and Points (2nd Edition) - (author profile), give seminars on miles and points all over the world, and occasionally write for publications such as Frommer's and Forbes Advisor.
