Ostensibly, Marriott has a program for you to refer people to Bonvoy. You are supposed to start on this page and enter your friend’s email.
And this is how it should work:
When a MilesTalk Facebook group member reached out that she didn’t have an account, I offered to refer her, remembering this program existed.
However, the next day she mentioned she still had no email to signup through. OK, so it’s not *instant*. She waited another day. Finally she had to give up and just make an account.
Today, one month and four days later, they sent her ELEVEN invitations.
Too little, too late, no?
I don’t know what they could possibly doing over in Marriott’s IT department for it to work like this. Does one person get these requests in their email and they check it every couple of months? It’s baffling.
But anyway, if you are trying to refer a friend and asking “Does the Bonvoy refer a friend even work? Why haven’t they gotten an email??”, you can rest assured that you’re not alone. It just doesn’t work.
