Caesars to Eldorado Status Match Opportunities

Eldorado isn’t a chain that I’ve paid much attention to. My only exposure has been the Tropicana in Atlantic City which I do quite like, though not as much as Borgata or Hard Rock. (I used to love the Ocean, but opined about how I lost my love for Ocean in this post.)

The brands Eldorado owns include Tropicana (Atlantic City, NJ, Laughlin, NV, and Evansville, IN), Isle Casinos (Black Hawk, CO, Bettendorf and Waterloo, IA), Circus Circus in Reno, Isle of Capri in Lula, MS, Boonville, MO, and Westlake, LA. There are a handful more.  TravelZork spotted the new match opportunity and wrote it up today.

For most of you, the Tropicana is the most likely status match target

While the Eldorado properties will wind up folded in to Caesars Rewards, you can, for now, match your status and also transfer points seamlessly between programs.

So for instance, you can link and match your status from Caesars Diamond (including if you have Caesars Diamond from the Status Match Merry Go Round) to match to Tropicana’s Platinum tier, which is just one level below Black. If I could find my Trop Players Card I’d do this for you, but thankfully TravelZork has done all this work for you. In their post, they run through exactly this: a match from Caesars Diamond to Trop Platinum.

Tropicana Platinum comes with a ton of perks:

  • All Gold Member Benefits
  • Access to TROP ADVANTAGE VIP Lounge Weekend ($10 comp charge per person)
  • Separate VIP Reservation Number
  • Exclusive Hotel Check-In
  • Complimentary Show Tickets to Select Shows
  • Preferred Showroom Seating
  • Priority Lines for Restaurants & Showroom
  • Annual Cruise on Celebrity Cruises (Guests are responsible for cruise fees, gratuities, taxes and airfare.)

Gold benefits mentioned above include:

  • Complimentary Birthday Dinner (Choice of any Tropicana Atlantic City-owned restaurant. Play required.)
  • Exclusive Select Card Level-Only Events
  • Annual stay at Tropicana Laughlin, Belle of Baton Rouge Casino Hotel, Tropicana Evansville, Lumiere Place Casino & Hotels or TROP Casino Greenville (Guests are responsible for fees, gratuities, taxes and airfare. Certain restrictions apply.)
  • Complimentary Valet & Self Park
  • Free or Reduced Admission to Nightclubs in The Quarter

Interestingly, you cannot match online to top tier Black from Seven Stars. You’d need to, I assume, contact your host for that – but that won’t apply to us status matchers anyway.

The match will be good through Dec 2021, which I assume will be enough time for them to merge the programs into Caesars Rewards. If not, that could provide additional arbitrage opportunities on the Merry Go Round, so I think it’s a win either way.

You’d also be able to transfer p0ints from Caesars to Eldorado properties, for instance for dining or for lounge access. Remember that you can, if you really wanted to, even transfer points from Wyndham to Caesars and then transfer those to Trop or another Eldorado property. Or, you can transfer from Eldorado to Caesars.

Let me know if you find any super sweet spots there.

Bottom Line:

Why not? If you already have a players card for any Eldorado property, you may as well match. I’m not sure if and when you’d use that cruise benefit, but maybe in 2021? Plus, it could come in handy for… yet another status match.
