10 Super Luxe Ways to Spend 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points
Thanks to the insane 100,000 point bonus offer currently available for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, there’s lots of interest in what 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points can be used for. Sure, you could just use Pay Yourself back and cash out for $1,250 in dining or groceries, but what fun is that when you can get many thousands in value? 😉
From First and Business Class flights to super luxe hotels, here are my top ten.
Note: Please always remember to “confirm availability before transferring” for all of these redemptions! There are always going to be limited rooms/seats available for such amazing deals.
Fly Singapore First Class
While it’s a bit more than 100,000 points to fly all the way to Singapore, you can “sample” this amazing personal suite in the sky for just 86,000 miles one way from New York JFK to Frankfurt, Germany (or Frankfurt to New York). You’ll have the ability to pre book your meal from a ton of great options via the Book the Cook feature. Lobster Thermidor, anyone?
Pro tip: Fly the Suite westbound to New York for more time in the sky and less time in your (flat) bed…
You can read my review of Singapore Airlines’ First Class Suites here.
Just remember, you’ll want to actually create an account on the Singapore Airlines website and confirm “Saver” availability for a date you can use before transferring. This can sometimes be a bit hard to find, but it’s much easier from JFK-FRA or vice versa than the FRA-SIN segment.
(Note that this flight is temporarily paused due to COVID, but you can be ready to book when it returns!)
Fly Lufthansa First Class (and First Class Terminal)
Want to REALLY see how the rich fly? If you have flexibility in your travel plans, you’ll soon be able to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Air Canada’s Aeroplan where there are no annoying fuel surcharges and book Lufthansa First Class from their main hub in Frankfurt to anywhere in the US. This First Class flight will cost 100,000 miles once Chase’s partnership with Aeroplan goes live later this year.
This would price at over $3,000 one way in cash.
You’ll not only be in this comfy and large seat, but you’ll have access to the famous First Class Terminal where you’ll have some amazing food and drink before being whisked straight to the plane in a fancy car.
Stay at Calala Island, Nicaragua (Hyatt)
Located in the Caribbean off the coast of mainland Nicaragua, Calala Island is for those that want to get away from it all, then get away some more! As World of Hyatt is a Chase transfer partner, you can transfer points to Hyatt and redeem at this resort (although availability is quite hard to find, given that there are just four rooms!).
With just 4 rooms on the entire island, you will have seclusion the likes of which you’ve not likely encountered before.
Calala Island is bookable with 40,000 Hyatt points a night vs a roughly $2,000 per night cash rate for a Junior Suite (this is the room type available to book with points if you can actually find availability) and represents half of the 4 total rooms.
This gets you a return of 5 cents per Hyatt point and the points booking actually covers just about everything. They cover the prop plane that you’ll need to take from the capital, Managua (MGA) to Bluefields on the eastern side of Nicaragua. From there you’ll need to take a small speed boat the rest of the way to Calala Island, which is another ~2 hours. In additional, all of your food, almost all drinks, and almost all activities (including things like a boat tour to nearby islands) are covered in the rate.
You can of course get World of Hyatt points with the World of Hyatt Credit Card but you can earn far more Hyatt points by actually earning on various Chase Ultimate Rewards credit cards, some of which have huge bonuses and great bonus multipliers – and you can transfer these into World of Hyatt 1:1.
Of course, today we are really talking about the 100,000 point bonus on a new Sapphire Preferred card.
Your 100,000 point bonus gets you 2 nights, but I’d save up at least 20k more for a minimum of three nights (and probably even a few more given how hard it is to reach!)
Stay at Alila Ventana Big Sur (Hyatt)
I’ve written before that I think that the Ventana Big Sur may well be the best redemption in the Hyatt system. Sure, it’s not a private island, but you know what? It its a lot of work to get to a private island off the coast of Nicaragua! 😉
Big Sur, the famous area on the central California coast known for camping and hiking, is a destination regardless of the hotel. But when that hotel is an uber-luxury resort that is all-inclusive (except alcohol) and retails for about $2,000 a night with tax for a standard room, the 30,000 point per night rate gives you nearly 7 cents per point in value. Heck, if you earned a bulk of those points on a Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Freedom Flex, Chase Freedom Unlimited, or Chase Ink Preferred in a 3X bonus category, your net return on spend would be about 20%!
Included in a room here is:
- Dining in-room (all meals), poolside on your dedicated chaise lounge (lunch), or at The Sur House (breakfast and dinner)—which has a spacious new seating plan and is now reserved exclusively for resort guests.
- Convenient, healthy, and inspiring snacks to take on the day’s adventures, along with complimentary keepsake reusable water bottles.
- Access to the resort’s Signature Experiences such as Yoga, meditation, Tai Chi, and daily hikes.
- The Ventana Big Sur picnic program.
- Access to indoor and outdoor fitness studios.
- Volvo chauffeur service within a three-mile radius
- Access to private, reservation-only indoor and outdoor wellness studios.
- The Excursion Outpost, featuring complimentary items for your use on picnics, hikes, and more.
- New outdoor lounging nooks across the grounds, perfect for couples.
Once again, a World of Hyatt credit card can earn the points, but a signup bonus on a card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred would go much further and can be transferred in 1:1.
What is crazy is that your one 100k credit card signup bonus is getting you well over $7,000 in value when spent here. Talk about a signup bonus!!

Fly ANA Business Class Round Trip from the US to Tokyo
Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer to Virgin Atlantic and a great way to redeem Virgin Atlantic miles is to book an ANA business or first class award. You’ll need just 95,000 miles for a roundtrip in business class on ANA from the US to Japan and 120,000 miles for first class roundtrip. If flying from the West coast, you’ll need just 90,000 miles for business class and 120,000 for first roundtrip.
If you are really lucky, you might find availability from New York to Tokyo on these brand new suites, known as “The Room”
To book, use the United Airlines website to locate availability and then call Virgin Atlantic to have them hold the seats for 24-48 hours while you transfer your Chase points over to Virgin Atlantic.
Fly Roundtrip to Madrid in Business Class
Iberia’s award chart has peak and off-peak award rates. The off-peak dates actually include great months/weeks during the shoulder season. You can fly one-way to Spain in business class for just 34,000 Iberia Avios during off-peak times from the East Coast.
Iberia’s Business Class is just fine, even if it’s not leading edge.

Stay at the Topping Rose House – Bridgehampton (The Hamptons), NY
The Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton is a boutique 22 room ultra-luxury hotel, featuring a swimming pool, hot tub, spa, and a Jean Georges restaurant.
The location is probably the #1 selling point. Bridgehampton is, unquestionably, my favorite town in the Hamptons. It’s sort of in the middle of it all, where you could day trip out to Montauk and have dinner in Southampton or Sag Harbor. You could even check out Shelter Island pretty easily from here. And, compared to staying in Montauk, your car or train ride is a full hour shorter here.
Room rates never drop below $995 plus tax and service charges and they often exceed $2,000 a night on summer weekends (where 3-4 night minimum stays are sometimes also required).
The Topping Rose House is bookable using World of Hyatt points (transferable from Chase Ultimate Rewards at a rate of 1:1) thanks to the World of Hyatt / Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) partnership.
It’s a Category 8 hotel, meaning that it’s currently 40,000 Hyatt points per night. When Hyatt eventually introduces peak and off-peak pricing, you can be sure this will be 45,000 points a night in summer.
Stay at the Grand Hyatt Kaua’i
You may recall that I reviewed the Grand Hyatt Kaua’i in Hawaii in April and absolutely loved it.
While room rates get up near $1,000 a night, you can spend 25,000 World of Hyatt points, meaning that this bonus would get you a full 4 nights at the Grand Hyatt Kaua’i.
I would highly recommend this use of points!
Stay at the Park Hyatt Tokyo (from Lost in Translation)
Remember the movie Lost in Translation? That amazing rooftop bar?
You can stay there for an average price of just $1,000 a night! Or, wait a second, you can use 30,000 World of Hyatt points per night, meaning that the 100,000 point Chase Sapphire Preferred bonus offer would net you 3 free nights worth about $3,000 – with 10,000 points left over.
It’s worth noting that when you book an award room night with World of Hyatt, you don’t have to pay taxes or fees and that includes resort fees (even if you have no Hyatt status!) so the savings are always even more than they appear. You can also book amazing suites with Hyatt for only twice as many points as a standard room, and you can find some absolutely amazing deals doing so as well. If that’s your style, check out this post on booking Hyatt Suites with points.
Bottom Line
There are TONS of ways to get several thousand dollars worth of points with this 100,000 point bonus offer on the Chase Sapphire Preferred (spend $4,000 in 3 months). Remember that you aren’t eligible if you have either Sapphire card right now or got a bonus within the last 48 months on a Sapphire card.
If you want, you can read everything I wrote about the 100,000 point Sapphire Preferred offer, or you can skip right to learning how to apply for it.
Either way, don’t delay as there is no way that this offer can last. It was 60,000 points for years, then briefly 80,000 and now 100,000. It’s a huge marketing expense for Chase at these levels, which is why I’m confident it will drop sooner than later.

Chase doesn’t transfer to Avianca
Thanks for catching that! Replaced with Aeroplan (future partner also with no surcharges).
