A Week Off

First off, as you may have noticed I haven’t posted since Friday and, most likely, won’t post again until next Tuesday, August 18th.

That’s because I got married this weekend and we are currently on our “local mini-moon” in lieu of our planned Maldives / Sri Lanka honeymoon (to be rescheduled!).

At least I’ll have some nice content about using points in the Hamptons, including how we are staying at the most expensive hotel in all of the Hamptons (which is nothing to sneeze at in summer) using all points (and not even that many!

I promised my new bride that I would focus on her this week, given that I have rarely gone more than a day or two without working on this blog in the last few years.

As well, within a few weeks I’ll be launching a brand new MilesTalk, which will be much easier to navigate and use than this one – which was thrown together in about 2 hours on a whim.

Air Canada’s Aeroplan Announces Details of New Program

In November, Aeroplan will change from the ground up.

A number of bloggers were given a detailed look under the hood of the new program and, while I wasn’t one of them, I’ll be sure to give you my very detailed and unbiased analysis next week. At first glance, the changes seem mostly good, with increases in mileage offset by lowered surcharges (I haven’t done the math yet, but could Aeroplan now beat Avianca for best way to fly Lufthansa First Class?)

Here are four recommended blogger takes on the new Aeroplan:

And again, I’ll give all my thoughts next week.

In the meantime, I’ll still be posting and commenting in the MilesTalk Facebook group and Tweeting and Instagramming 🙂

See you next week! Any questions?
