Marriott reached out to tell me that terms are now live for how you’ll earn on their new Apartments offering (good) as well as the new Four Points Express.

Marriott Bonvoy Bonvoy Benefits / Earn Rate / Elite Nights at Apartments by Marriott

Per Marriott: “For context in understanding the loyalty benefits, here is information about Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy.

Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy sits within the premium upper-upscale and luxury segments. It is distinguished from Marriott’s existing extended-stay brands with distinctly designed properties incorporating sophisticated design and décor elements that reflect the local neighborhood for independent travelers seeking more space and residential amenities.

The typical Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy unit contains private bedrooms, a separate living room, full kitchen, and washer/dryer. A 24-hour gym allows guests to maintain their wellness routines. Designed for a truly independent stay, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy doesnot provide traditional hotel services such as food and beverage, meeting spaces or daily housekeeping.

Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy meets the needs of consumers traveling solo or as a family, who are increasingly blending work and leisure trips and seeking out residential amenities. Below is a synopsis of the new Terms and Conditions that will apply to Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy.

• All Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy properties will participate in the Marriott Bonvoy program.
• Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy properties will offer exclusive member rates and complimentary Wi-Fi.
• Given the expected average length of stay, members will receive 5 base points per dollar spent on qualifying charges plus qualifying bonus points based on status. In addition, they will earn one Elite Night Credit per each stay night.
• Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy properties will convert points to miles for members who set their earning preference as miles.
• The Elite Welcome Gift will be 500 Marriott Bonvoy Points per stay for Gold and 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points per stay for Platinum and above.
• Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy is included in the program’s Ultimate Reservation Guarantee and Guaranteed Room Type including compensation.
• Platinum Elite members and above will receive guaranteed late checkout of 2 pm and as late as 4 pm based on availability.
• The 48-Hour Guaranteed Room Availability applies to standard rooms only.
• Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy properties do not include lounges nor provide free breakfast because each apartment will offer residential amenities including full kitchens, dining and living areas, and separate bedrooms as well as a common workout area.”

Marriott Bonvoy Bonvoy Benefits / Earn Rate / Elite Nights at Four Points Express

“Marriott announced Four Points Express by Sheraton in September in response to growing consumer demand for reliable yet affordable accommodation in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. 

For stays at Four Points Express members will earn five base points for each U.S. dollar spent on qualifying charges. This is aligned with other brands including Protea Hotels, City Express, Element, Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, and Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy. 

In addition, at Four Points Express, members will be awarded one Elite Night Credit for every two qualifying nights for each qualifying stay completed.

For the Elite Welcome Gift, Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador Elite members staying at a Four Points Express may choose to receive either complimentary breakfast for each night of their stay for themselves +1 or 500 bonus points per stay.”

My Take

Overall, my only real thought is that the Apartments offering represents a spectacular opportunity for earning Bonvoy Titanium and collecting both the 50 and 75 night Choice Benefits if you happen to need an extended stay somewhere. Assuming the pricing is similar to other options, earning a full 1 elite night per night stayed will add up fast.

And that’s on top of the 5 points per dollar which will also rack up big time on a long stay. It won’t apply to most people, most of the time – but when it does, it will be huge.
