american express refer a friend +10X +10%

American Express launched a limited-time Refer-a-Friend offer that offers the referrer either +10X Rewards or +10% cash back per dollar spent at restaurants worldwide (for 3 months on up to $25,000) after they refer a friend and the friend is approved and gets a Card.

This offer will be available until May 22, 2024.

Example from my Blue Business Plus®

As an example, since the Amex Gold Card (and Rose Gold Card) already earn 4X on dining, a successful referral would earn you a total of 14X points per dollar spend on eligible dining purchases (up to $25,000 in total spend which would equate to 250,000 bonus points if you are a big diner and spend $25,000 within 3 months!)

There is also one extra kicker for the American Express® Gold Card

Friends who apply for and get the American Express® Gold Card through this referral offer could earn a welcome bonus PLUS, 20% back in statement credits after they use their Card at restaurants, up to $50 in three months. Terms apply.

I personally am not able to refer from my Gold Card despite having one, so I can’t see this offer personally.

This offer applies to a large range of cards (essentially Amex proprietary cards… not co-brands – although interestingly including 3 personal Delta SkyMiles credit cards):

Eligible American Express Cards Include:

One extra note: you will only receive a 1099 for the fixed referral bonus. not the bonus points for dining spend – making it even more valuable.
