If you have already had the Amex Platinum (meaning that you already collected your one per lifetime welcome bonus on it), you may want to check your own account for upgrade offers. While I followed an offer buried inside my Amex Offers, you could just go look at other cards while logged in and you’ll get to the same place.

My Gold Card had an offer to upgrade to Platinum for 25,000 points plus 5X on U.S. supermarkets, gas stations, and restaurants (up to $15,000 in 6 months). While I have heard of higher upgrade offers before, it’t not necessarily a bad deal if you like the Platinum card and want to upgrade back.

Keep in mind that Gold already has 4X on dining and US supermarkets, so it’s not as strong as it looks there, but it’s still a good deal for some.

I suspect others may have varying offers, so please comment below what you have.

If you have a Green Card, look for an identical upgrade to Platinum offer.

You may also have other offers, like Hilton or Hilton Surpass to Hilton Aspire, etc, but I can’t check since I already have Aspire. My base level Bonvoy Amex did not have an upgrade offer to Brilliant, or I might have taken that one.
