On Tuesday, Hyatt announced that they will finally integrate the Bahia Principe resorts they acquired in late 2024 into World of Hyatt. Unlike Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which is really a marketing relationship and therefore has dynamic award pricing, Bahia Principe will be getting folded into their All Inclusive award chart.
That’s exciting!
There are a few really nice properties that could represent solid award value (I hope!).
We won’t know for a couple of months, though. March 24th, 2026 is the integration date for World of Hyatt and, sadly, you not only won’t earn points or get benefits before then, you can’t even book award stays until that day. So, we cannot yet see which hotels are in which AI award category.
The benefits will be:
- 5 Base Points per eligible $1 USD spent on room rates
- 4 Bonus Points per eligible $1 USD spent
- Standard tier Bonus Points on eligible purchases
- Credit toward earning tier status and Milestone Rewards
- Credit toward Brand Explorer Award on qualifying stays – earn a free night for every five unique Hyatt brands experienced
- Award chart participation, with free nights starting at 12,000 points, off-peak
- On-property benefits for elite members, where available
It looks likely that we will not be able to use Suite Night Awards at this property subset, which includes 22 resorts and you will not be able to book Cash + Points rates, either.
You will be able to earn a Brand Explorer (stay at 5 different brands and earn a Cat 1-4 free night) spot with Bahia Principe.
