Citi Strata Premier® is Live

If you already had a Citi Premier® card, guess what – you now have a Citi Strata Premier® card.

Just check your online account and you’ll see!

You now get 10X on Citi Travel portal bookings for hotels, car rentals and attractions and you now get 3X on EV charging.

You also now, once again, have Travel Protection benefits:

  • Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption (Common Carrier)
  • Trip Delay
  • Lost or Damaged Luggage
  • MasterRental Coverage (Car Rental)

(I cannot yet find the exact specifics of these benefits)

Citi Strata Premier Applications are Live

If you haven’t gotten a bonus for a Premier card in the last 48 months, applications are in fact now open for the Citi Strata Premier® at this page.

Please note: We expect to have a link that supports MilesTalk late this week, so if you don’t ABSOLUTELY NEED the card in the next few days, please consider waiting as the support is what makes this blog available to you 🙂  Please and thank you!!

The bonus is 75,000 bonus points when you spend $4,000 in 3 months – as expected.

Upgrade from Citi Strata Premier to Citi Prestige??

There is an FAQ on the Strata Premier website that indicated you can potentially upgrade from Citi Strata Premier to Citi Prestige. This is pretty huge since the Prestige, one of the very few credit cards that still has Priority Pass dining benefits, has been unavailable for new applicants for years and many wish they’d applied when they could as it also offers perks like 5X on dining. (HT: to Greg at Frequent Miler for noticing the FAQ about Prestige).

Can I upgrade from the Citi Strata Premier Card to the Citi Prestige® Card?

To see if you are eligible to upgrade your Citi Strata Premier Card to the Citi Prestige® Card, please call the number on the back of your Citi Strata Premier card.

Now, we don’t know what they mean by “may” be eligible. Is it an algorithmic determnation or is it that you must have had your Premier card for a full year before upgrading.

Also – there have long been rumors of a Strata Elite card (which we assumed would be the new Prestige). Is that still happening? Will the prestige just get renamed and become available to new applicants again?

We don’t know but this sure is interesting – and let me know if you call to upgrade!

I’d pontificate more but it;’s Mother’s Day and I need to get back to my wife and son 😉

  1. I have not seen a complete list of transfer partners? May have to wait until official launch date. Or same transfer partners as previous Citi card?

  2. I have the legacy Citi Premier which I got back in 2015, so the last bonus I received was longer than 4 years ago. If it now shows as a Strata Premier card, would I be allowed to apply for a new Strata Premier card and get this 75K bonus?

If not, the ability to upgrade to a Prestige card is quite interesting!
