Yes, award nights count as “qualifying nights.”

On top of that they are extending the extra bonus category that’s been available for new card holders. This was set to expire, even for those applying now, at the end of this year. But it will now be in place for new applicants until next year.

Specifically, you’ll get 2 Points per $1 spent in your top three spend categories each quarter through 12/31/23, and then after that it will be in your top two categories each quarter.

As a reminder, eligible categories include: Dining, Shipping, Airline tickets when purchased directly with the airline, Local transit & Commuting, Social Media & Search Engine Advertising, Car Rental Agencies, Gas stations and Internet, Cable & Phone Services.

If you missed my full review of the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card when it launched, it has all the details you might want on the card. You can also see my comparison of the World of Hyatt Credit Card and the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card.

This is a fantastic offer for someone that may be just a but too far away from requalifying for Globalist in 2023, but will have enough stays that counting each stay from now until the end of the year. It’s a bit more than full four months of double elite nights!

New to all of this? My “introduction to miles and points” book, MilesTalk: Live Your Wildest Travel Dreams Using Miles and Points is available on Amazon and at major booksellers.

I got "in the game" in 2003 and since then I've collected literally millions and millions of frequent flyer miles and hotel points. I've flown around the world in first class seats that would cost $29,000 using frequent flyer miles and a few bucks in tax. And I've stayed in some of the finest hotels - all for free! A few years ago I realized many of my friends actually thought I was paying for these!! So I started sharing my tips. It's long been a passion, but when I hosted a session on Miles and Points at the South by Southwest festival, my love of the game intensified and this blog was born.
