plastiq

As reported by Danny Deal Guru, you can now use American Express cards at Plastiq again.

Plastiq is, of course, the service that lets you pay bills where only a check is accepted with a credit card (great for meeting the minimum spend requirement for signup bonuses!) in exchange for a 2.8% fee. When the fee was lower, it was easier to justify using more broadly, but now that is the main use case.

You still can’t pay just anything with an Amex – it will have to be listed in this table.

If you don’t already have a Plastiq account, you can signup with my referral link.

PS: This doesn’t change my opinion that they are a shell of the company that they were (see my battle with them over lost FFDs), but payments are payments….
