Rove has just added its 14th transfer partner, and it’s a good one… JAL Mileage Bank.

If it seems like I’ve talked a lot about JAL recently, I have. Both US companies with JAL as a transfer partner have had transfer bonuses going recently, with Capital One offering a transfer bonus for March that made the ratio almost 1:1 (as they normally transfer at a reduced 1:0.75 ratio) and Bilt had JAL as their Rent Day transfer bonus just yesterday, with transfers of up to a 100% bonus depending on your status (or up to 125% with Platinum status and $135 in Bilt Cash).

But Rove Miles are pretty easy to earn, comparatively, for booking travel or shopping online through their portal, and you’ll get 1,500 miles just for creating a Rove account.

Rove Miles will transfer 1:1 to JAL Mileage Bank. And to celebrate the launch, Rove will offer a limited-time transfer bonus promotion, allowing members to receive additional 50% more JAL miles when converting Rove Miles through 11:59 p.m. EST on March 31st, 2026.

To borrow my highlights from my last JAL blog post:

JAL is a very worthwhile program, with its main drawback being that miles “hard expire” in 36 months, meaning that you can’t extend them, and that you cannot book an award until you have had your JAL Mileage Bank account open for 30 days (or just 7 when you link via Bilt or Capital One).

The program otherwise is incredibly generous and you’d do well to get an idea of what you want to book now (although you can’t hold anything – I just mean to get an idea) with the idea of transferring on Rent Day.

If you can find any JetBlue Mint flights, that would be one of the best possible use of the bonus – but the JAL / JetBlue partnership ends March 31st, 2026 so only transfer for this purpose if you find space that day.

Beyond that, we have an entire guide to JAL Mileage Bank here.

Sign up for Rove and get 1,500 miles without having to do a thing.

Dave Grossman
I got "in the game" in 2003 and since then I've collected literally millions and millions of frequent flyer miles and hotel points. I've flown around the world in first class seats that would cost $29,000 using frequent flyer miles and a few bucks in tax. And I've stayed in some of the finest hotels - all for free! Several years ago, I realized many of my friends actually thought I was paying for these!! So I started sharing my tips. It's long been a passion, but when I hosted a session on Miles and Points at the South by Southwest festival, my love of the game intensified and this blog was born. Since then, I've written my book, MilesTalk: Live Your Wildest Travel Dreams Using Miles and Points (2nd Edition) - (author profile), give seminars on miles and points all over the world, and occasionally write for publications such as Frommer's and Forbes Advisor.
