Earning and Spending Rove Miles

The quick refresher:

You can earn Rove Miles by buying airfare (but note that they are portal bookings with portal restrictions on servicing the tickets), hotels (look for the “Loyalty Eligible” bookings which earn full points and elite benefits and still net you 5X Rove Miles!) and shopping (they have way more merchants than literally any other portal – if you don’t find it where you normally book via a portal, they likely have the store.

Then you can use Rove miles to book travel, generally at around 1.5X per Rove Mile, or you can transfer to an increasingly massive list of transfer partners as shown on our Transfer Partner Matrix. There’s even a 25% transfer bonus on right now to Air Canada Aeroplan (yes, that is shown on the Matrix 🙂 ).

Again, if you are new to Rove, you can get 1,500 miles using our link just by signing up (no further activity required).

Dave Grossman
I got "in the game" in 2003 and since then I've collected literally millions and millions of frequent flyer miles and hotel points. I've flown around the world in first class seats that would cost $29,000 using frequent flyer miles and a few bucks in tax. And I've stayed in some of the finest hotels - all for free! Several years ago, I realized many of my friends actually thought I was paying for these!! So I started sharing my tips. It's long been a passion, but when I hosted a session on Miles and Points at the South by Southwest festival, my love of the game intensified and this blog was born. Since then, I've written my book, MilesTalk: Live Your Wildest Travel Dreams Using Miles and Points (2nd Edition) - (author profile), give seminars on miles and points all over the world, and occasionally write for publications such as Frommer's and Forbes Advisor.
