A few weeks ago, I wrote about Virtual Trips, where you can join a tour with a local guide in dozens of countries around the world.

It turns out that Amazon has a somewhat similar thing called Amazon Explore.

Now, they aren’t the same.

With Virtual Trips, you join a very large group and you can type to your guide. They’ll likely answer you, but your question or ask may be queued behind many other tour-goers.

With Amazon Explore, you have the option for a personal guide experience, where you can actually ask them to do specific things, like enter a particular store or even buy something at a store for you. Cool! It’s very guide/tour specific, though, so you need to read the details of what you book.

To promote the service, Amazon will give you an Experience for free. Just use code FREEFUN at checkout. The only catch is that the experience must be under $50. If it’s $51, it won’t be eligible for the code at all.

This tour of Kyoto, for example, is $49 and so would be a perfect freebie.

If you do it, let me know how you enjoy it!

(We may earn a commission on items purchased from Amazon when you use our links. Thanks for your support if you do. Of course, this tour is free, so I won’t ;-))
