I never thought I’d be writing a single word about the Kenya Airways Asante Rewards program, but here we are.
The status match to Kenya’s program isn’t brand new, but what is new is a limited time promotion targeted squarely at Accor elites of almost any level straight to Asante’s top tier “Platinum Elite Plus.

This is especially interesting since so many people just matched to Accor ALL Gold or Platinum during Bilt’s Rent Day and also because Accor Gold only requires 30 elite nights or 7,000 status points (earned with €2,800 in spend). Founders Card Elite also gifts you Accor/ ALL Gold.
All that to say, a LOT of people have ALL Gold status.
This status match to top tier Kenya Airways status means you get SkyTeam Elite Plus status.
Now, that’s equivalent to Delta Gold, so it’s not like you are getting private Porsche transfers, but you get:
- Priority reservation wait list (when fares permit)
- Priority check-in counters
- Priority boarding or at leisure
- Extra baggage allowance
- Guaranteed full-fare Y-class reservation on sold-out long-haul flights, at least 24 hours prior to departure.
- Access to airport lounges worldwide, whatever the class of travel, for members in possession of a boarding pass, accompanied by a guest.
- Priority baggage handling on arrival, whatever the class of travel
- Extra baggage allowance
The bold marks what you get as SKyTeam Elite Plus over the lower SkyTeam Elite (equivalent to Delta Silver).
You don’t get access to Delta lounges when flying economy in the US, but you DO get access to a range of SkyTeam member lounges like Air France, Aeromexico and the like. You can see a list of these lounges here.
You also get an extra checked bag (or more weight if the carrier goes by weight rather than number of bags). While I’m not sure of every nuance of how this works with Basic Economy tickets, it’s my understanding that you would even get one free checked bag (in addition to priority check in and boarding) on a Delta Basic Economy ticket. Still no seat assignment, though!
Of course. you get the free checked bag on regular economy fares as well… This applies to you and passengers in your reservation.
The catch? It’s $299 to match. So, you’ll want to weigh the benefits you would expect to reasonably expect to get in the next year against the $299.
