Most have fallen off the MGR thanks to 24 month inactivity rules across various parts of the MGR, but many have managed to maintain it – either through actual play or some absolutely surgical matching year by year.

Resorts World New York City is offering a status / tier match through September 30, 2026 and they will match up as high as their top tier invite-only status, which is Chairman.
Depending on what they match you to, and there is no published list, you may receive a maximum (this is what you get if matched to Chairman) of:
- $300 free slot play or $400 Free Bets for the table games (more on this below)
- A $75 dining credit to use within 24 hours on property.
- A free night at the attached Hyatt Regency. You must give them a date you want that for on the spot for a booking within 21 days. You may be able to get same day, pending hotel availability.
I know that MGM Platinum and Seven Stars will match to Chairman. Ocean Prime will match to Platinum.
It’s thought that a match to RW Platinum gives you $150 in free slot play or $200 in Free Bets and a $50 dining credit.
The status will expire January 31, 2027.

1) Where is the casino? Can I walk from JFK? How is the area?
Here’s the map and let me explain.
You see how close that looks to JFK?
Well, it’s not. It’s about a 15 minute drive and 1,000% not walkable. This entire area is not great. Meaning I was almost out of gas and didn’t stop near the casino for gas because I don’t like being robbed. That’s from someone living in NYC for over two decades….
If you do go, be serious about safety. The casino is massive and safe inside, but this is not a Vegas casino. It’s an isolated complex in Jamaica, Queens.
No, you can’t walk from JFK. It would take you 1.5 hours each way through not-great neighborhoods. Please, please don’t even consider it for a second.
2) Benefits of Platinum or Chairman
Almost none. You get free valet parking. Chairman is allowed into some extra VIP high roller gambling pit. The main benefit is the free play and perhaps you can use the card for an onward match. The card expires January 2027.
3) When does the Resorts World NYC status match end?
The website lists it as ending Sept 30, 2026.
4) Help me choose: Free slot play or Free Bet?
Free Bets are one time use and you do not get paid the Free Bet, meaning if you put $25 on BlackJack and win, you get $25, not $50. That should explain why it’s not even with slot play. You should choose whichever you will enjoy more, but take a look at the tables before selecting Free Bets to make sure you see games and table minimums you like. All table games are on the 3rd Floor.
If you choose slot play, this is important. Entering Redeem and your PIN in a slot will redeem all to that machine and you can’t select increments. However, you do not have to bet it all on that machine. Press cash out twice. The first will give you any earned cash and the second will log you out of your session. Make sure your card says logged out, then remove it. You can then put it in any other eligible machine and your balance will appear when you enter your PIN. The most confusing part may be that not all machines are eligible. So you may leave one machine, follow this step on another, see $0, and freak out. Just try a different machine. Buffalo Ascension is excluded as an example.
5) New players only?
New or “inactive” which I’m told is 24 months of inactivity. It seems to exclude currently players although a Host may be able to.
6) Where in the Casino Do I Match?
Look for any rewards desk. There is one small one just to the right of the escalator banks on each floor. I matched there on the 3rd floor. Otherwise, there is a massive rewards desk on the 1st floor closer to the steakhouse. I chose the smaller desk assuming they might be more knowledgeable on the match but I don’t know if that was necessary.
7) How egregious are the food prices?
I’ll just show you. I probably should have done the Steakhouse but wound up at Sugar Factory where the prices whacked me over the head and they were out of half the menu. Of note, there is a 20% included gratuity but your comp can cover that.
8) I don’t live in NYC – is this worth it?
If I didn’t live in NYC, I surely would not fly into it. I don’t think that a RW card matches at too many places, although if you can get Chairman, who knows where that goes….
But the cost of flying in and round trip taxi/Uber would be all of your gains, so really, no I wouldn’t. If you live in NYC or the surrounding area, it’s a bit more appealing.
