For those having a bit of a tough time these days, what with the delays in getting stimulus payments and small business owners having a heck of a time getting any sort of SBA loan (and, of course, the funds have already run out for the PPP loan), some businesses are offering help.

We’ve already seen a few auto insurance companies offer 25% off a few months (not mine, but hey, still nice!)  and now T-Mobile is willing to help customers in need out with 50% off their bill for three months.

Now, it is meant for people that need it and, really, it will only help you out if you really are quarantining and using your home WiFi network instead of your data plan.

That’s because the deal requires you to agree to a firm 3GB cap on your data plan. Beyond that you’d need to buy additional data or revert to your normal plan.

T-Mobile Economic Hardship Details:

  • 50% discount is applicable to all voice lines on your account.
  • Lasts for 3 months max
  • Firm 3GB data cap; you can buy more data if you need; the cap feature is added to your account with the discount so you aren’t changing overall plans.
  • The savings will be on your next bill and not prorated prior.
  • You can revert to your normal plan at any time.

This is not a public offer. You can call them or DM @tmobilehelp on Twitter.

  1. @Pat: I didn’t call out a person or a party. As an American, I believe the 1st Amendment provides me the right to criticize the government when warranted, regardless of the party in power. I’ve applied for four small business aid programs (not even counting the missing $1,200 stimulus) and I’ve gotten zero approvals totaling zero dollars. So, yes, there’s some editorial, but no, it’s not political – it’s personal.
