caesars rewards status extension

Quick update: They didn’t process the downgrades until sometime around 10:30am ET today. If you checked earlier, you would have appeared to still hold Diamond status but with an expiry of yesterday. It will now say Gold. So, go rematch!

The Status Match Merry Go Round requires just a bit of maintenance, like tending to a garden.

Normally in January, you’d have matched your Caesars Diamond back to Wyndham Diamond, but this year Wyndham extended everyone’s status anyway, making it unnecessary.

Now, Caesars had originally stated they were also extending status through 2021, but then we learned that Caesars may not extend status for those that were matched (and let’s ignore how little sense that makes when you can match back anyway).

So, if you check your Caesars account today and it says Gold instead of Diamond, then head over to the Caesars / Wyndham Status Match page and match from Wyndham Diamond back to Caesars Diamond.

Your match may take up to 7 days (or you may possibly have to call if it doesn’t match within that time). Last year, my match took less than an hour.

Once matched, you will be Caesars Diamond until next January 31st, giving you the following benefits:

New to all of this? My “introduction to miles and points” book, MilesTalk: Live Your Wildest Travel Dreams Using Miles and Points is available on Amazon and at major booksellers.

I got "in the game" in 2003 and since then I've collected literally millions and millions of frequent flyer miles and hotel points. I've flown around the world in first class seats that would cost $29,000 using frequent flyer miles and a few bucks in tax. And I've stayed in some of the finest hotels - all for free! A few years ago I realized many of my friends actually thought I was paying for these!! So I started sharing my tips. It's long been a passion, but when I hosted a session on Miles and Points at the South by Southwest festival, my love of the game intensified and this blog was born.

  1. My Caesars shows “We are sorry, DIAMOND members can not attain a higher tier using the Wyndham Rewards Match Program. If you believe you received this message in error, please try again or visit the nearest Caesars Rewards Center.” I was hoping to re-match to be able to get another $100 dinner. Any tips or do I just have to wait until next year?
