If you upload your vaccine card to your United profile using the sweepstakes link by June 22nd, 2021, you’ll be entered to win one of 30 free flights (any destination; any cabin).

If you are in a cash crunch, you should avoid travel rewards credit cards until you are caught up. Here are our favorite credit cards for Intro 0% APR offers and for balance transfer offers

  • 5 grand prize winners, selected randomly on July 1, will receive one year of free travel to any United destination in any class of service for themselves and one companion traveling with them.
  • 30 winners, selected randomly in June, will win a roundtrip flight for two in any class of service, anywhere United flies.

The process is straightforward. Just follow the instructions to upload a picture of your vaccination card (10mb max, make sure your image isn’t an iPhone generated HEIC file as that will be rejected). I personally opted out of lettingUnited use my vaccine card to build their machine AI. It’s an optional checkbox.

As far as them having my vaccine info on file, I have no privacy issue with that, especially as I expect to need it for international travel.

I’m sure many will find a reason to get upset about this promotion, but if you aren’t vaccinated or just don’t feel comfortable uploading your card info, you can pass on the promo.

I don’t expect to win, but since I figure I’ll need to provide it later anyway, I may as well be entered to win.

New to all of this? My “introduction to miles and points” book, MilesTalk: Live Your Wildest Travel Dreams Using Miles and Points is available on Amazon and at major booksellers.

I got "in the game" in 2003 and since then I've collected literally millions and millions of frequent flyer miles and hotel points. I've flown around the world in first class seats that would cost $29,000 using frequent flyer miles and a few bucks in tax. And I've stayed in some of the finest hotels - all for free! A few years ago I realized many of my friends actually thought I was paying for these!! So I started sharing my tips. It's long been a passion, but when I hosted a session on Miles and Points at this year's South by Southwest festival, my love of the game intensified and this blog was born.
