I’m in NYC where we tend to order a lot of food delivery. Even now, when delivery isn’t very fun, with limited options, unpredictable delivery times and missing items, and the fun of practicing “COVID-19 hygiene” – which means we don’t touch the containers and immediately transfer all food to real plates, etc. before washing up to “enjoy the meal.”

Still, we can only cook so much in our tiny kitchen, so we’re still ordering a few times a week.

Last Christmas, GrubHub did a promotion for $10 bonus gift card when you spent $100.

$15 Bonus with $75 Seamless or GrubHub Gift Cards

Right now, they are going one better, offering $15 in bonus cash for just $75 in spend. You can buy three $75 gift cards for a total of $45 ($15 x 3) in bonus cash.

But if you live in a market served by Seamless, which owns GrubHub, you can buy 3 Seamless and 3 GrubHub gift cards for $75 each and get a total of $90 in bonus credits. The bonus cards expire at the end of June; the full price gift cards don’t expire.

Once you purchase, you just click the link in each email (if you ordered all 6 you’ll have 12 emails) and copy the code. Then go to your Seamless or GrubHub account online, click at the top right on your name and hit the “Gift Card” link. Then paste the gift card code in. Obviously, you can only enter the Seamless cards in your Seamless account and your GrubHub cards in your GrubHub account.

When you want to redeem, the gift cards will show at checkout. Just click one or more to use. It’s super simple.

Stacks with S+ and GH+

If you have Seamless+ or GrubHub+, which give you a $10 credit for every $100 you spend (and free delivery), this stacks. Meaning that using gift cards as your payment won’t count against you and you’ll earn an additional 10% effective rebate (in future credit). You should also be able to redeem both a $10 reward and the gift cards.

Beyond the gift cards

If you have the Amex Gold, you have $10 a month to use anyway. Since that is a statement credit, just make sure you still spend $10 on your Amex Gold each month if you are running through these gift cards.

Amex Offer

There’s currently an Amex Offer on some cards for 10% off of Seamless/GrubHub. I have it on my Amex Blue Business Plus and it’s good for up to $75 back on $750 in orders through June.

My plan is to use the $15 bonus gift cards ASAP so I don’t forget to before they expire, then run down my 10% off Amex offer, and then use the rest of these once that’s used up or expired.
