This Flyertalk post shows a cardmember’s statement showing the loss of the 1st two benefits on the Amex Business Platinum Card.

American Express Business Platinum Boingo and Gogo Benefits End Dec 31, 2019

American Express Business Platinum

I already knew Boingo would be an expiring benefit, as it has become on other Amex cards with the same benefit, like the Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card, but I hadn’t heard anything about the card losing the Gogo Wifi passes. Those 10 free passes, which do not survive an account closure or downgrade, were to me a key card benefit given that the cost of a one time Wifi pass in flight can be north of $20 each.  It’s certainly a benefit that has been slightly tougher to use, thanks to inroads made by Viasat on American Airlines flights and United using its own Wifi program.

It’s definitely something that could factor into your calculations of whether or not the annual fee is worthwhile for you – something I have a worksheet available to help you sort out.

Amex Business Platinum WeWork Benefit

The last benefit, WeWork, is called out by DDF as definitively expiring Dec 31, 2019. Now, that date has always been listed as when the benefit would end, but I was hoping it might be renewed. It appears (though I can’t be certain where his intel is from) that it’s confirmed to expire this year. You only need enroll by Dec 31st and then you’ll get 12 full months plus the month you sign up for a free WeWork workspace. I did this myself earlier in the year. You do not lose the remainder of your free year at WeWork should you downgrade or cancel the card later.

Here, I describe the Amex Business Platinum Free WeWork benefit in great detail.

It’s not too late to act on that offer, by the way, so if you could use $2,700 worth of office space for the $595 annual fee, consider applying for the American Express Business Platinum card.
