US Bank Business Cash Rewards Credit Card

I have to confess, I didn’t know this card existed. And the US Bank Business Cash Rewards World Elite Mastercard isn’t even a new card!

It’s also not going to become your next “top of wallet” card, but as I wrote about it for Your Best Credit Cards, I realized that this card is an easy $500 to start and could actually be a decent business card to keep for has station spend (assuming you, like me, actually have a business and want to keep business expenses on business credit cards).

As a business credit card, it will NOT report to your personal credit (except for the initial hard pull) and it will NOT count against Chase 5/24. That’s what makes this attractive – there’s no Chase opportunity cost here.

Since the card has no annual fee and earns 3% cash back on gas but also has a 25% bonus on your cash back at your anniversary date, that 3% becomes 3.75% (max annual bonus of $250).

Below is the mini-review I wrote for Your Best Credit Cards:

The US Bank Business Cash Rewards Signup Bonus

When you spend $3,000 within 90 days, you’ll earn $500.

Annual Fee

There is no annual fee on this credit card.

How the US Bank Business Cash Rewards Credit Card Earns

  • 3% cash back at gas stations
  • 3% cash back on office supplies
  • 3% cash back on your cellular service
  • 1% cash back on all other eligible purchases

If you are a straight up cash-hound and don’t want points, this is the best business credit card on the market with no annual fee for spend at gas stations. While the American Express Business Gold Card earns 4X, that card has a $250 annual fee. And the Costco Business credit card earns 4%, but you need a Costco membership and there’s a $7,000 annual cap on the Costco Business card.

25% Annual Bonus on Cash Back

After you have had the US Bank Business Cash Rewards Credit Card for one year, you’ll get 25% of your prior year’s cash rewards, up to $250, as a bonus.

You’ll get the same bonus on every account anniversary based on the prior year.

If you earn $1,000 in cash back in a cardmember year, you would max that out for a full 25% bonus on that spend.

For example, the 3% bonus category becomes 3.75% after the bonus – even more compelling for the gas category vs alternatives in the business card space.

0% Intro APR

Get a 0% introductory rate on both purchases and balance transfers.

After 12 billing cycles, it will adjust to a variable APR, currently ranging from 13.99% to 22.99% (see application page for rates and fees).

US Bank Business Cash Rewards Benefits

  • No annual fee
  • Cell Phone Protection: You can get reimbursed for up to $800 if your cell phone is stolen or damaged (but lost phones are not covered) as long as you pay your monthly cell phone bill with your card. A deductible applies and you will be covered for a maximum of $1,000 total per year and two claims max per year. Protection is secondary to homeowners/renters insurance.
  • No Foreign Transaction Fees.

US Bank Business Cash Rewards Credit Card Summary

The US Bank Business Cash Rewards Credit Card is an interesting offering for small business owners, especially those that are looking to stay under the Chase 5/24 rule, since this business credit card will not count towards Chase 5/24.

The $500 new cardmember bonus is great for a no annual fee card. And 3% on gas station purchases isn’t bad at all!

While we don’t think this would be the first or only business card in your wallet, it is definitely a contender for a spot!
